Pentti Vattulainen Director, National Repository Library,
Finland
Pentti Vattulainen is the director
of the National Repository Library in Finland, which is a shared national
storage facility, a tool for national collection co-operation and an
interlibrary lending centre. He has been responsible for developing the
Repository Library into a nationally and internationally visible library. He
holds master's degree from the University of Helsinki and a post-graduate
degree from the department of Information Studies at the University of Tampere.
He has held various positions in Helsinki and Vantaa city libraries. He has
worked in development aid work in Tanzania. Pentti has written articles on
interlibrary lending and resource sharing as well as on collection policy and
co-operation. He holds various memberships in national and international
library institutions, for example he is the secretary of the International
Federation of Library Associations and Institutions (IFLA) Section on
Acquisition and Collection Development. |
