Directories Day
On Friday 31 October a Directories Day has been scheduled as a
satellite event to enable interested parties from around the world to advance
discussion on architectures and standards for directory services in a digital
age.
The meeting will be held at the National Library of Australia from
10.00-15.00.
Attendees will review the latest committee draft of
ISO 2146 (Directories of Libraries and Related
Organisations) and the IPIG
Information Model (Directory Services for Interlibrary Loan) which forms
the core of the new ISO 2146 standard.
Implementors of directory services, including the National Library of
Australia and the Natonal Libary of Canada will provide an update on current
projects to implement the IPIG Information Model as a profile of ISO 2146.
There will also be a discussion on alternative protocols for the
delivery of directory services.
The Directories Day will be of interest to implementors of directory
services worldwide.
This will be an open meeting and attendance is free. If you wish to
attend, email the meeting convenor, Warwick Cathro at
wcathro@nla.gov.au. |
