What is the history of the National Library of Australia?

The National Library of Australia News magazine devotes much of the August 2008 issue to the 40th anniversary of the National Library building.

For more detailed information about the history of the National Library of Australia, you could try the book Remarkable Occurrences: The National Library of Australia's first 100 years, 1901-2001 which may be available in your local library, or available on interlibrary loan.
