Can I see Captain Cook's Endeavour Journal?

Captain James Cook's Journal of the H.M.S. Endeavour is on permanent display in the Library's Treasures Gallery.

A digitised copy of the journal can be viewed in full online.

A facsimile of the journal is available for reference in the Manuscripts Reading Room.

A microfilm copy of the original manuscript is also accessible in the Newspapers and Microforms Reading Room.

The Treasures from the National Library website has further information on the journal and how it came into the Library's collections. The Library's South Seas website also features the journal, and is a rich online resource on European voyaging and cross-cultural encounters in the Pacific between 1760 and 1800.
