What is an ISMN?

ISMN stands for International Standard Music Number and is a system for uniquely identifying sheet music, which operates in the same way as the ISSN and ISBN systems do. In Australian ISMN's are allocated by the Australian International Standard Music Number Agency, which is an initiative of the National Library.
