How can I find contact details for an author?

The Library does not maintain contact details for authors. You could try contacting the author's publisher. To find the latest publisher of an author try searching either our online catalogue or Trove for recent items by the author.

To find contact details of publishers try the Australian Publishers Association which provides a link to a comprehensive list of Australian Booksellers and Publishers with an online presence. Another useful resource is Margaret Gee's Australian Media Guide. There is also an online version available which is a subscription based service, only accessible in the National Library's Reading Rooms. For contact details of well known Australian authors you could try searching Margaret Gee's Australian celebrity contact book.
