Peak Bodies Forum

About the Forum

On 15 February 2002, the National Library convened a meeting of representatives of peak library organisations. The purpose of the meeting was to identify significant issues facing the Australian library sector and to develop a national plan of action to address those issues that participants agree can be successfully managed at a national level. The meeting is now an annual event.

For those unfamiliar with the term Peak Bodies - we use it to describe the key organisations, in this case the Peak Bodies in the Australian library sector. These include:
Australian Library and Information Association (ALIA)
Council of Australian University Librarians (CAUL)
National and State Libraries Australasian (NSLA)
Australian Law Librarians' Association (ALLA)
Health Libraries Australia (HLA)
TAFE Libraries Australia
Public Libraries Australia (PLA)
Australian School Library Association (ASLA)
Association of Parliamentary Libraries of Australasia
Australian Government Libraries Information Network (AGLIN)
