National Licensing Forum
National Licensing Forums - an overview
For some years a number of individual libraries and library consortia in Australia have subscribed to a variety of electronic resources. It has become clear that there are some Australians who do not have access to resources they would like to use, because they are not affiliated with a library which subscribes to the resources they are interested in.
The first National Licensing Forum was convened in 2004 to discuss this and related issues with representatives of library groups and various consortia. The group reconvened in 2005 and there was strong support for continuing work on the resulting new National Licensing Proposal (NLP).
