7th CDNLAO Meeting
21 November 1998, Papua New Guinea
The 7th meeting of the Conference of Directors of National Libraries of Asia and Oceania (CDNLAO) was held in Port Moresby on Saturday 21 November 1998, and was hosted by the National Library Service of Papua New Guinea. The meeting was held prior to the Papua New Guinea Library Association Conference, 23-25 November.
Mr Daniel Paraide, Director of the National Library Service of Papua New Guinea, welcomed the attendees at a reception at the Islander Travelodge on the evening of the 20 of May with the formal meeting following on the next day. Delegates appreciated the opportunity to share information about library developments and challenges in our region and to balance this with the Papua New Guinean hospitality which included visits to the National Museum and Art Gallery, Parliament, the Botanical Gardens and the Variarata National Park and Sogeeri.
