Content: Photographs.
Digitisation policy and priorities: No digitisation or online policy. 0.0001% of the collections has already been digitised.
Timetable: Continuing project: 1 June 1997 - 31 December 2000
Budget and funding: Commonwealth government funding - less than $A20,000.
Staff resources: Digitisation out-sourced to private company - inhouse image editing for Web display.
Technical standards: Transparencies were scanned onto PhotoCD. Lower resolution images have been prepared in JPEG format. Migration will be contemplated when and as deemed necessary.
Cataloguing and indexing: A database package is being used to generate HTML pages and listings. Dublin Core metadata is being used.
Comments: When out-sourcing, be very clear in specifying standards required. Run a small pilot to test feasibility and establish timeframes.
