information: |
|
| Content: |
Typed texts. |
| Digitisation policy and
priorities: |
No digitisation or online policy. 0.1% of
the collection has already been digitised; further digitisation depends on
popularity of EReserve. |
| Timetable: |
Digitisation of past exam papers ran from
1 July 1997 - 1 September 1998. EReserve should be embedded by August 2000.
|
| Budget and funding: |
Internally funded, using existing
resources. |
| Staff resources: |
Digitisation done inhouse. |
| Technical standards: |
Scanning 300 dpi to TIF files using
Innopac's E-Reserve software on a Pentium computer with Canon scanner. Storage
devices: Central server - Sun ultraserver. EReserve - pdf format being used
with files either being converted or images scanned to pdf. 300 dpi will
be maximum resolution. |
| Cataloguing and
indexing: |
The pilot project using E-Reserve module
of our Innopac system (our library management system) means the image is fully
indexed by one catalogue entry. Catalogue allows access by title and course
code - logical access points for exam papers. EReserve items will also have a
reserve record entry allowing course code and lecturer access. |
| Comments: |
Problems with printing - hopefully the pdf
format will assist with this. |
