Project description: Multimedia CD-ROM tracing the development of Australia's transport history. Aiming to provide improved public access to the collection, enhance preservation techniques and explore the resources required to undertake major digitisation.

Content: 500 images from the collections of the State Library of South Australia scanned and mastered onto Photo CD. Screen resolution images incorporated into a multimedia production on Macintosh/windows CD ROM. Digitised photographs and typed text.

Budget and funding: Project funded from private funds and corporate sponsorship - less than $A20,000.
Staff resources: Digitisation process outsourced to Bridgehead Australia Pty Ltd.
Technical standards: Image masters: Kodak PhotoCD Images on CD ROM: director movies. Image capture: Kodak professional Photo CD Accessing: Macromedia Director. Kodak Photo CD Imaging Workstation with images stored on Kodak Photo CD. When Photo CD becomes obsolete, we will transfer image files to whatever is then a suitable accepted standard.
Cataloguing and indexing: Keyword list compiled for records and used for search engine in multimedia package.
