Project description: To make non-copyright or Deakin University held copyright material (lecture notes, course guides etc.) available to staff and students at the University over the Library WWW catalogue. Aim being to add content to the existing Web site, improve collection management and provide improved public access to the collection.

Content: Typed text - mostly ephemeral items with a maximum useful life of 5 years. Less than 1% of the entire collection is involved in this digitisation project? Anticipate that less than 2% will be digitised by the end of 1999.
Digitisation policy and priorities: Digitisation policy developed internally with regard to non-copyright material specific to the Library Reserve collection.
Timetable: Current project: 1 Feburary 1997 - ongoing
Budget and funding: Internal and Commonwealth government funding - total $A50,000 - $A100,000.
Staff resources: Digitisation process undertaken inhouse.
Technical standards: Material must be in Word 6 or Word 7 format, as a PDF file, or as a URL to a Web site. Software: MS Word Adobe Acrobat HTML on a Pentium PC. Storage on Hard Disk and WWW server.
Cataloguing and indexing: Brief Library catalogue entry.
Comments: Scanning errors for some material - required proof reading.
