Digitisation of the Henry Alcock collection

Project description: Project to digitise the Professor Henry Alcock collection of slides on CD. The University's contribution to project will be to make the collection available on the University of Queensland Web site. The wider community will have access to the image database through links to the Brisbane City Council website also.

Content: Glass lantern slides - images of Brisbane, mainly covering period 1860-1900. The slides show buildings, landmarks and views of Brisbane, including the 1983 floods. Included also are some images of the University of Queensland at the George Street site.
