Project description: Australian literature database: a collection of Australian texts from the 18th century until early 20th century (part of the Scholarly Electronic Text and Image Service (SETIS) project).
Description of content: Over 100 Australian texts and associated images currently, all fully searchable, from the beginning of European settlement until the early twentieth century. Includes novels, plays, verse, explorers' journals, autobiographies, speeches and articles. Coverage = 1788-1938.
Size: Currently around 100 texts.
Digitisation priorities: Accurate electronic editions of historical printed works in Australia. Creation of integrated database of fully searchable, uniformly encoded texts.
Technical standards: SGML-encoded texts.

Timeline:
Budget and funding: Applied for research grant to continue the project with 150 more texts in the year 2000.
