Project description: The purpose of Territory Images is to enable the preservation of items in the photographic collection held in the Northern Territory Library through providing client access to digital surrogates. A web version is available, of the publically accessible items within the database.

Content: The Northern Territory Library holds a collection of over 100,000 photographs and transparencies relating to the Northern Territory. 63,000 images have been digitised

Timetable: Continuing Project - ongoing.
Budget and funding:
Staff resources: Digitisation of images is contracted out.
Technical standards: Digitised material consists of photographs.
Images have been scanned as JPEG files at a resolution of 760 x 568 pixels in 16.7M colours with an average file size of 50k.
Cataloguing and indexing: The database is indexed and searched using SearchTech's Perfect Pictures Software.
