Project description: Approximately 400 images have been selected from published and archival sources held in the State Library of South Australia as part of a Centenary of Federation SA project to produce a select bibliography about South Australia and Federation. The bibliography will be published in print and as a website.

Content: Approximately 400 images selected from published and unpublished material in State Library of South Australia collections, including newspaper articles, photographs, type and handwritten materials, illustrations and cartoons drawn by hand.

Timetable: Continuing project - since 3 November 1999.
Budget and funding: Centenary of Federation SA grant of $20,000 for print and web versions of the bibliography.
Staff resources: Scanning and image optimisation by SLSA contract staff; project management and indexing by SLSA staff.
Technical standards: Master digital images: 600 ppi bitonal, 300 ppi 256-level greyscale and 300 ppi 24-bit colour uncompressed TIFF. Image capture: IBM PC and Apple Power Macintosh G3 beige, A4 flatbed scanner/Adobe Photoshop with TWAIN plug-in.
Cataloguing and indexing: Some sources are catalogued in the Library's catalog system (Innovative Interfaces Inc's Innopac). Other materials such as newspaper articles and illustrations from periodicals are indexed in the bibliography. Dublin Core metadata will be applied to some objects.
