As one of the Content Team of AUSTLIT : Australian Literature Gateway, my presentation will outline the scope and nature of AUSTLIT, and show how interaction with Kinetica assists our research into, and verifcation of, writers and their works, and enhances both the process and the end result of our work.
ILL service delivery implications when end users have access to Kinetica
Christine Cother, University of South Australia
Unmediated Interlending and Document Delivery - issues, concerns and possible solutions. In this presentation Christine Cother will outline some of the issues and concerns that have been identified at meetings, seminars and conversations she has been involved with in recent years when the topic of 'unmediated interlending and document delivery' has been discussed. She will also talk about the University of South Australia and University of Adelaide trial of unmediated loans via the Voyager Universal Borrowing (UB) utility. This trial (to continue throughout 2003) has enabled university staff and post-graduate students to request loans items via the Library Catalogue of each institution and have them delivered to the campus library of their choice. Christine will challenge the Library community to think outside the square and look seriously at the possibilities and opportunities for providing 'at your door or desk delivery' of loans and documents Australia wide.
