A former title proper when one cataloging record represents several titles associated with an entity.
Indicators
- First - Title added entry
A value that indicates whether an added entry for the title is to be generated.- 0 - No added entry
- 1 - Added entry
- Second - Note controller
A value that indicates whether a note is displayed from data in the field.- 0 - Display note
Title varies: may be generated with the note for display.
- 1 - Do not display note
A textual note is contained in field 547 (Former Title Complexity Note).
- 0 - Display note

- $b - Remainder of title (NR)
- $f - Date or sequential designation (NR)
Dates or volume/issue numbers of the continuing resource that bore the former title. - $g - Miscellaneous information (NR)
