Conditions of ISO Interoperability with Libraries Australia Document Delivery
It is assumed that testing occurs when a site has purchased an ISO ILL compliant system and wishes to use their system to interoperate with Libraries Australia Document Delivery. All sites wishing to interoperate with Libraries Australia Document Delivery are required to
- Have their software suppliers confirm completion of vendor to vendor testing, and
- Be Libraries Australia Document Delivery members, and
- Test interoperability with Libraries Australia Document Delivery in the test environment (as outlined below) before being set up in Libraries Australia Document Delivery Production for ISO interoperability, and
- Purchase and load a Libraries Australia Document Delivery locations data extract into their system.
Testing exchange of requests
- Members wishing to test ISO ILL interoperability must meet criteria as set out in the previous section (‘Conditions if ISO Interoperability with Libraries Australia Document Delivery’).
- All testing of ISO interconnection will be conducted using the Libraries Australia Document Delivery test system and not production systems.
- Libraries Australia Administration staff will establish an ISO location within the test system and will supply an account on the test system to test transmission to/from Libraries Australia Document Delivery. Details of the test system including ISO ILL IP/email addresses will be supplied.
- It is the shared responsibility of Libraries Australia and the external system owner to ensure that ISO interconnection from their system to Libraries Australia Document Delivery and vice-versa is fully tested and is functioning correctly.
- Before establishing the external system as a Location in the production system Libraries Australia staff will verify the external system owner's test results. The external system owner will be required to supply copies of appropriately documented test results. The owner will also be required to exchange a number of ILL requests with a designated Libraries Australia Document Delivery account and vice-versa to confirm ISO ILL connectivity and messaging.
- Subject to successful completion of the above tests Libraries Australia staff will establish an agreed ISO location in the Libraries Australia Document Delivery production system.
- The National Library will attempt to meet all reasonable requests for access to the Libraries Australia Document Delivery test system for the purposes of interoperability testing but cannot guarantee the availability of systems or staff to support testing. The National Library reserves the right to reschedule or postpone testing in accordance with their business requirements.
Testing Libraries Australia document Delivery Payments Service
- Testing of access to the Payments Service will be dependent on the prior successful completion of the testing of ISO interoperability between the external system and Libraries Australia Document Delivery.
- All testing of gateway access to the Payments Service will be conducted using the Libraries Australia Document Delivery test system.
- On request, Libraries Australia will establish a test payments service account in the Libraries Australia Document Delivery test syste
