03/12/04 Libraries Australia Enhanced Requesting option

If your library has asked for the Enhanced Requesting option in Libraries Australia to be turned on, new ILL requests submitted via Libraries Australia will appear in your library's KDD account as Idle, For Manual Authorisation requests. These requests require you to Action them as Authorised before they are actually sent out to other library locations on the rota. Further instructions on finding and managing these requests within KDD can be found here.

If you would like further information on registering for the Enhanced Requesting option in Libraries Australia please contact us.

28/10/04 - Requests Received before Shipped and KDD Payments Service

Since the KDD upgrade in December 2003, KDD has not allowed users to action requests as Shipped after the request has been Received. As billing for the KDD Payments service is based on the Shipped date requests that have been "received" by the requesting library before the supplying library has "shipped" have not been included in billing.

KDD Administration has now modified the billing process to pick up requests which have "received" but no "shipped" action recorded. Billing for these requests has been run retrospectively from 1st January 2004.

This change also means that you will no longer need to create "Dummy" requests to receive payment for requests that have been received but not shipped.

27/09/04 - Default Shipped Cost Fix

KDD Administration has now implemented a fix to default a Shipped Cost into a request when shipping an item.

You will now notice that when shipping an item, a Shipped Cost equivalent to the service level of the request will default into the Base Cost field on the Shipping screen. You will no longer need to click the Recalc Cost button before shipping a request if you are charging the default cost.

If you wish to ship an item at a cost that is different to the default, you will need to manually change the amount ( leaving out the $ sign ) in the Base Cost field on the Shipping screen, and click the Recalc Cost button before submitting the request as Shipped. For example, if youwish to ship a request at no charge, you will need to enter a '0' intothe Base Cost field and click the Recalc Cost button before submitting the request as Shipped.
