In LA Search, when you import a record containing non-Roman script (e.g. Thai or Devanagari) from WorldCat, the script will now display properly.
Note: when importing records with non-Roman script you may need to edit the $7 script subfield in parallel tags before saving the record to the ANBD.
All records with non-Roman script automatically carry the script code ‘cjk’ in the $7 script subfield. ‘cjk’ should only be used for tags containing Chinese, Japanese or Korean script. Before clicking on the Save button, edit the $7 script subfield as required to indicate the language of the script in the tag by inserting the appropriate script code.
The following script codes should be used:
ba Cyrillic fa Arabic ja Davangari ca Latin ga Greek la Tamil cjk Chinese ha Hebrew ma Georgian cjk Japanese ia Thai zz Other cjk Korean Example:
700 0#$607$7ba$aMingkhwan Thornsirikul. 700 0#$607$7cjk$aมิ่งขวัญ ธรศิริกุล.
should be changed to:700 0#$607$7ba$aMingkhwan Thornsirikul.
700 0#$607$7ia$aมิ่งขวัญ ธรศิริกุล.
