NOMINATIONS FOR LIBRARIES AUSTRALIA ADVISORY COMMITTEE

The Libraries Australia Advisory Committee (formerly Kinetica Advisory Committee) has three elected members, whose terms each last for three years. The current terms of two elected members, Chris Taylor and Judy Engall, will expire on 31 December 2005.

This is a call for nominations for these two positions on the Libraries Australia Advisory Committee.

All Libraries Australia/Kinetica customer libraries are entitled to nominate candidates for the Libraries Australia Advisory Committee, and to vote in the election. All nominees must be employed in a Kinetica customer library. The election will be by proportional representation with optional preferences. The successful candidate’s term will be three years, expiring on 31 December 2008. Retiring members are eligible for re-election irrespective of the number of terms they have served as Committee members.

Nominations should be submitted using the form available at http://www.nla.gov.au/kinetica/NominationForm.doc. Each nomination should include a short statement of the nominee's experience. They will be distributed with the ballot papers for the information of voters.

Nominations must be received by 5 pm (Canberra Time) on Friday 28 October 2005.

Following the receipt of nominations, ballots will be dispatched by post to all Libraries Australia users on or around Monday 31 October 2005. Voting will conclude on Monday 14 November 2005.
