The Libraries Australia service is supported by a variety of documentation.
Documentation is available in a choice of formats, ie. online HTML files, as
downloadable Word 97 or Word 2000 documents, or PDF (Portable Document
Format).

| Guidelines for the description of non-book resources in Visual Arts collections | From discussions with the Visual Arts library community it appears there is a need for guidelines to cover art catalogues, posters/promotion material and material relating to artists and galleries at a collection level. More specifically, this includes art catalogues and collections of catalogues; collections of material relating to individual artists (including programs, invitations, posters, catalogues, press clippings and material which is distributed through events) and special non-book materials such as posters, publicity material relating to collections, artists and galleries, and items in unusual formats. | |
| Guidelines for the cataloguing of theses |
These Guidelines have been prepared to assist in the interpretation of general cataloguing rules and practices. The guidelines recommend particular practices applicable to all theses, such as the use of the MARC 500 field to indicate whether the thesis is by coursework, and also practices for the cataloguing of electronic theses, theses in both electronic and print forms, and reproductions of theses(eg in microform, photocopy or digital form. |

| Libraries Australia Cataloguing Client | Libraries Australia is the National Library of Australia’s resource sharing and resource discovery service and hosts the Australian National Bibliographic Database (ANBD). The ANBD is a unique source of Australian data and contains the holdings of over 1200 Australian libraries. In addition, the ANBD is a source of non-Australian bibliographic information. Libraries Australia consists of three major services:

Availability of Printed Copies
Online copies of all documentation are available free of charge to all Libraries Australia customers.
Printed copies of all documentation are available from the National Library. The price list is in the current Charging Schedule. A discount of 10% will be offered when 10 or more copies of the same item are purchased at one time. To order printed copies of documentation please contact us.
Payment of Printed Copies
There are three ways you can pay:
- Add the cost to your Libraries Australia account. Please supply your customer number (IID).
- If you want, you can have a separate invoice, but only if the order is for more than $A30.00.
- Payment by cheque, particularly for an order under $A30.00 which is not to be added to your Libraries Australia account. Please make cheques payable to the National Library, but send it to the Libraries Australia Help Desk with your order.
