Ordering Libraries Australia Products
To order a Libraries Australia E-collection product you must be a Libraries Australia member. An online order form is available from within the Libraries Australia Administration service, located under the Products tab. You will need to have Customer Administrator access enabled to access the Products order form. Contact the Help Desk to request this if necessary.
Charges for each E-collection product are added to your Libraries Australia account. Please allow five working days for the processing of your request.
Holdings addition
As part of this service, Libraries Australia staff will globally add your librarys holdings to each E-collection set you order (excluding Pandora). Please specify a generic holding statement for each set on the online order form. Holdings statements should indicate whether a resource is available for document delivery or not, for example,
Online access. Available for document delivery. See Internet for available issues
Available via Internet. See Internet for available issues
Online access. Not available for document delivery
This holding statement will be preceded by your librarys NUC symbol and a brief description of the collection set, e.g. Meditext. This holdings statement will be added to the selected collection set before supplying the initial file as well as the regular quarterly update files. There is no additional charge for this global addition of holdings.
URL addition
The online order form also gives you the option to add your librarys URL to an E-collection set. On the bibliographic records, this URL will appear with your librarys NUC symbol and the name of the set you have selected. If you chose not to include an institution specific URL for your library the bibliographic records will include the publisher's URLs.
Base sets and update files
E-collection sets will be supplied as base sets and/or quarterly update files, available for collection by FTP from Libraries Australias FTP server. Full instructions for collecting your files will be provided with notification of the availability of your first E-collection set.
Complete and partial subscriptions
Please indicate on the online order form whether you have purchased a complete or partial subscription to each set.
Where you have purchased a partial subscription, please forward a separate file of key identifiers to Libraries Australia Help Desk. These key identifiers may be supplied as ANBD numbers, ISSNs or ISBNs. Alternatively, please provide details on the online order form of whom we should contact to obtain this information.
Data provided
The bibliographic records supplied will usually be specifically for the electronic version. For some collections the records will be based on the records for the print version, with additional fields added to reflect the electronic version. The records will include all 856 fields (electronic location) contained in the ANBD record.
From July 2005 combined records will be provided for titles contained in more than one collection. More details about these records is available at http://www.nla.gov.au/librariesaustralia/ecolchange.html
