RIS for authority records

We have commenced loading authority records via the Record Import Service. At the moment, we are loading retrospectively changed authorities from the NLA only. Retrospectively changed authorities are those that add or correct information in the authority record that was originally loaded to Libraries Australia from the NLA. The intention is to load new authorities from the National Library after these loads have been completed.

These imported records can be identified by the addition of National Library of Australia’s system number in the 035, for example: 035 __ $a(AuCNL)141210

Considerable thought has gone into the RIS processes for authority records so that no information will be lost from any authority on Libraries Australia; and, to prevent the merging of headings that don’t match. Nevertheless, if you notice anything amiss please contact the Help Desk.
