Update to British Library database Z39.50 connection details – MARC syntax

Following on from our previous advice regarding upcoming changes in record syntaxes supported by the Z-Gateway, we wish to advise that the Z39.50 connection details for accessing the British Library database will be updated on Tuesday 16th  July to MARC record syntax, to enable retrieval of records in MARC format from the British Library.

New connection details will be available from Tuesday at http://www.nla.gov.au/librariesaustralia/services/search/z3950/database-connection-details/#bl

Please note, these changes do not affect searches of the British Library database conducted through the Libraries Australia Search service. Only those Libraries who use Z39.50 via their library system (LMS) to search the British Library will need to update their connection using the new connection details if they wish to search and retrieve records in MARC format from the British Library.

Please don't hesitate to contact us should you have any queries about this change.

With thanks
