Warren Horton AM (1938 - 2003)

Warren Horton AM (1938-2003) was appointed Director-General of the National Library of Australia in 1985. He retired from the National Library in 1999. Mr Horton died on 25 November 2003 after a long illness. An obituary was published in the January 2004 issue of National Library of Australia News.

A celebration of Warren Horton's contribution to the library profession, both nationally and internationally, was held at the National Library of Australia on the evening of Friday, 26 March 2004. Speakers included Alex Byrne, Eric Wainwright, Earle Gow, Dagmar Schmidmaier and Ian McCallum. A visual presentation of Warren Horton's career (28.1MB) was displayed.
