How to update an entry

Each map collection entry on the database may be updated through the online update form. If, however, you are not able to do this yourself, you may send us details of the changes which need to be made and they'll be made for you.

Passwords

When your entry in the Directory is first established you will be notified of your password, which allows you to access the online update form. It is a good idea to change the password when you first log in, to something which you will easily remember.

If you lose or forget your password for update, contact the Map Section at the National Library of Australia on 02 6262 1282 or email maps@nla.gov.au.

Online update

To update map collection details online, you will need a Web browser which is Javascript and cookie enabled.

To update online:

  • Find your collection entry on the database using the Search option
  • Select the 'Edit this Record' option at the bottom of your entry and use your password to login for update
  • Proceed through the update form - adding, removing or editing details as required. Follow the on-screen instructions.

What can I include in the Directory?

Update by post, phone, fax or email

We realise that not everyone will be able to use the online forms to update so are happy to help you. Please post, phone, fax or email us with the details which need changing.

New collections

This directory is founded on information collected in 2001 and we are always glad to hear about new Australian map collections which should be added. Please use our new entry form to report new collections - an entry will be established and password issued as soon as possible.
