Treasures Gallery

The National Library of Australia’s greatest treasures are now on permanent display in our new Treasures Gallery. The Treasures Gallery features some of the Library’s most prized items collected over the past 100 years, including Lieutenant James Cook’s journal of the Endeavour and the first document printed in Australia, a 1796 playbill. Recent new additions to the Treasures Gallery include a cheque written by Charles Dickens to his sons in Australia in 1869 and a copy of the Mona Lisa by Adelaide artist Mortimer Menpes.
