Vivid: National Photography Festival
Vivid: National Photography Festival will be held for the first time in Canberra from 11 July to 12 October 2008. It will be Australia’s largest photography festival.
Fifty venues are collaborating to present more than 100 exhibitions – on both contemporary and historical themes – celebrating the vital role of photography in Australian life and history.
At the core of Vivid are simultaneous photographic exhibitions at the National Gallery of Australia, National Archives of Australia, National Library of Australia, National Museum of Australia, Australian War Memorial, National Film and Sound Archive, Australian National University, Canberra Museum and Gallery and Old Parliament House.
As well as a vast range of exhibitions, there will be an international conference, dramatic projections of photographs on to landmark buildings, a trade show, master classes, seminars, talks and tours and a range of events for photographers, photographic historians and everyone with an interest in, or love of, photography.
