1 million pages have been scanned from microfilm. A 50,000 page pilot has been converted into outputs allowing full text searching (using Optical Character Recognition technologies). This is being loaded into a test search and delivery system. A 'beta' version of the search and delivery system will be available to the public soon.
National Library to digitise The Sydney Morning Herald

It has recently been announced that the National Library will be digitising out of copyright editions of The Sydney Morning Herald aided by a grant from the Vincent Fairfax Family Foundation.
