Folklore collection honoured

Folklore collection honoured

The National Library's John Meredith Folklore Collection has been placed on the Australian Memory of the World Register.

It is the first sound recorded collection of folklore  in Australia and includes rare performances of traditional dance music, songs and yarns.

Curator of Oral History and Folklore, Kevin Bradley, represented the National Library at the announcement in Adelaide on 14 May.
