L: Copyright Issues
RL1 That ACLIS establish and fund a Copyright
Committee, with representatives from ACLIS, the Australian Council
of Archives, CASL, the Council of Australian University Librarians,
CSIRO and the National Library of Australia to meet throughout
1994 to formulate an appropriate response to the Minister for
Justice on changes to copyright legislation, and to develop appropriate
positions on copyright for the library and archives communities.

This Resolution was implemented with the establishment of the
ACLIS Copyright Committee in March 1994. The ACLIS Research Officer
is Secretary. An email discussion group has been established
as a forum.
- JUNE 1995

ACLIS report that considerable progress has been made in connection
with this resolution. ACLIS continues to support the libraries
Copyright Committee and full time research officer position.
Reports are made regularly through the copyright bulletin, published
at least four times a year and posted to all ACLIS members with
ACLIS News.
- JUNE 1996

ACLIS continues to support the cross-sectoral Libraries Copyright
Committee and to employ a full-time research officer.
