See many of the National Library of Australia's prized collection items now on permanent exhibition in the new purpose-built Treasures Gallery.
From James Cook's Endeavour Journal to Patrick White's notebooks and glasses, Jorn Utzon's model for the shells of the Sydney Opera House to watercolour art and maps of the First Fleet, the gallery has been more than 10 years in the making.
Treasures on display range from the remarkable and unexpected to the rare and priceless, including Edward Koiki Mabo's diary and manuscript maps, a page from a Gutenberg Bible, Tim Winton's original manuscript for Cloudstreet and the original words and music for Waltzing Matilda.
The Treasures Gallery is open daily.
