Join outstanding Australian authors, researchers and international guests for an important event marking the 21st anniversary of the Library's Harold White Fellowship scheme. Professor Geoffrey Bolton, Dr Ann Moyal, Frank Moorhouse, Ian Hancock and Bridget Griffen-Foley are among the speakers who will explore the value of the major research collection as a resource and inspiration for writing. Themes to be discussed include: the environment, history, politics, the role of the imagination, cultural diversity and biography. The event will include the inaugural Kenneth Binns lecture delivered by Geoffrey Bolton.

During the lunch break on Day 1 there will be a demonstration of online research resources available at the National Library, including 18th Century Collections Online ; Early American Imprints , Series I (1639–1800) ; the Times Digital Archive 1785 1985 ; and FACTIVA Contemporary Australian and Overseas newspapers.
