Abstract

Presented at the ACOC seminar Promise for the future, or legacy of the past? : cataloguing in a changing world at the State Library of Queensland, Brisbane on Friday 7th September, 2007.

Resource Description and Access (RDA) is a new standard for description and access, which will replace the Anglo-American Cataloguing Rules (AACR) in early 2009.

The presentation covered:

* Our goals for RDA and where RDA fits with other standards developments
* An idea of what  RDA will look like. After showing the structure of RDA, the presentation focuses on the chapters that are currently being reviewed, highlighting some of the major changes

* What you can do to prepare for RDA.
