Jan Lyall
Jan Lyall chairs the Australian UNESCO Memory of the World Program Committee, which she established in 2000. She is a Member of the Australian National Commission for UNESCO's communication network. She is past head of Preservation Services, National Library of Australia (NLA) and former Assistant Director-General, responsible for the NLA's cultural and educational services. She was a member of the Conservation Working Party of the Heritage Collections Council of Australia and was in charge of preparing the first set of guidelines for the UNESCO International Memory of the World Program. In 1997 she was awarded a Commonwealth Public Service Medal in recognition of her long-standing involvement with and contribution to national and international library preservation.
