Search Engine Working Group (SEWG)
The Search Engine Working Group (SEWG) is a Working Group of the
Commonwealth Government Technology and Telecommunications Committee (GTTC),
State Navigation Working Party and was announced in a letter from the Acting
Chief Government Information Officer, dated 14 October 1997.
The SEWG's role is:
- to consider proposals for the development of whole-of-government
entry point services, including both browse and search services;
- take account of relevant resolutions of the Online Council and the
Government Technology and Telecommunications Committee (GTTC), and of
initiatives and policies within Australia and overseas which relate to
government informagtion navigation services;
- determine a consensus strategy for the improvement and further
development of these services; and
- make recommendations on the Commonwealth position to
be conveyed to the Commonwealth/State Navigation Working Party.
