CAMiLEON is using the BBC's 1986 Domesday Project as a test case for the implementation and development of strategies for the preservation of digital material. The Domesday Project is a multimedia digital project originally produced on 12-inch video discs. It was intended that future generations would view this resource. However, the software and hardware required for viewing has a finite lifetime. The article discusses the intellectual property rights management issues associated with emulating the resource, the software required to use it and the professional and non-professional content.
