The National Library of Australia and ERPANET have signed a Memorandum
of Understanding to collaboratively promote information on digital
preservation. These include:
- Contribution to the PADI database of resources relating to digital
preservation initiatives and events in Europe, including those in non-English
languages.
- Input ERPANET research reports onto the PADI database when
available.
- Contribute to the writing of English language summaries of
non-English resources of interest to PADI and assist in the translation into
selected non-English languages topic overviews of interest to PADI and ERPANET,
resources permitting.
- Display PADI in future publicity materials and at all ERPANET
events.

The National Library of Australia and Goettingen State and University Library (SUB), Germany, have signed a Memorandum of Understanding to co-operate by exchanging information on digital preservation between the PADI and nestor subject gateways.
The two gateways will:
- Regularly exchange the metadata content of their databases, with an aim to provide comprehensive subject gateways to digital preservation information resources.
- Acknowledge records contributed by each service.
- Provide links and further information about the PADI and nestor services, as well as the collaboration.
Such exchange is expected to be advantageous for both services, helping to avoid duplication of activity and providing greater access to information on digital preservation for both English-speaking and German-speaking users.
The exchange of metadata between the gateways commenced in late 2005. The nestor subject gateway currently allows users to view either the combined records from PADI and nestor, or the records from nestor alone. Metadata from nestor will be incorporated into the PADI service in due course.
