Achieving Strategic Directions

The Library has continued to work successfully towards its goal as stated in its Directions for 2000–2002 that:

All Australians, at their place of choice, have direct, seamless access to print and electronic sources of information.

This has been achieved through a wide range of services, and increasingly through services based on the Internet. The Report on Operations, included in this annual report, focuses on the achievement of the performance measures set in the Portfolio Budget Statement and provides information on issues or points of interest in relation to the achievement of strategic directions. Progress on more general developments, trends and achievements is outlined below.
