NLA 35th Annual Report 1994-95


Introduction


This report on the operations of the National Library of Australia is provided to the Minister by the National Library's Council in accordance with Section 27(2) (http://www.austlii.edu.au/au/legis/cth/consol_act/nla1960177/s27.html) of the National Library Act 1960.

The report commences with a review of the year by the Director-General. This review highlights the Library's major achievements during 1994-95. An overview of the role and work of Council follows together with a list of Council members. A corporate overview gives information about the structure and objectives of the Library. The remainder of the report considers the activities and performance of the Library's programs against the objectives of the strategic plan.

At the opening of the exhibition 'It's About Friendship'-Rom: A Ceremony from Arnhem Land in January 1995, performers from Maningrida in the Northern Territory entertained visitors in the Library foyer.
