Nomen Oblitum
File Renamer

What is Nomen Oblitum?
Nomen Oblitum is a simple batch file-renamer. It allows for adding common prefixes or suffixes to file names and replacing the name core with incremental numbers.
Using Nomen Oblitum
To use Nomen Oblitum simply follow the numbered steps (corresponding numbers appear within the program).
1. Select the folder with files that you would like to rename.
2. Use the filter box if you would like to restrict the type of files appearing in the File List Box.
3. Select files to rename either by clicking on file names while holding down CTRL or SHIFT key, or by clicking on "Select All" button if you want to rename all files that are visible in the File List Box.
4. To specify your preferences for changing various parts of the filenames:
- Check the "Add Prefix" box and type in desired text if you want to add a prefix (front part of the file name) to the new name.
- Choose the middle part of the new name by selecting either "Preserve Original File Name Part" or "Replace Original Name With Number" option. If the latter, then choose the first number from which the renaming will start (the number will increment with each following file). You can also choose the number of digits that will be used in the number (e.g. if you choose 4 digits the numbers will look like this: 0000, 0001, 0002 ... 0123, 0124, etc.)
- Click "Add Suffix" if you want the last part of the name (NOT the extension !!!) to be set. Type in the suffix text in the corresponding box.
Each time you select files to rename or change options you will see a preview of the new filenames in the corresponding box, providing instant feedback about the new names.
5. Press the "Rename Files" button. If files with the new names already do exist, the program will display an error message. If everything goes well however, after a while you will see a rename confirmation.
