New Assistant Director-General, Public Programs appointed

The Director-General has announced that Ms Helen Kon has been appointed to the position of Assistant Director-General, Public Programs. Ms Kon has been employed in the State Library of New South Wales since 1989. She was manager, Education Services from 1989_96, and since 1996 has been general manager, Education and Client Liaison. Her responsibilities in that position included public programs, education and training, planning and evaluation, the volunteer program, the library shop and the SLNSW Press. Ms Kon was Education Marketing manager, The Age (David Syme and Co. Ltd) from 1986_89, and prior to that occupied a range of film, media and education positions. Her wider professional contributions have included board membership of the State Film Council of Victoria, and the presidency of both the Council of Australian Media Education Organisations (CAMEO) and Australian Teachers of Media (ATOM). Ms Kon will join the National Library in late June. |
