NLAs guide to overseas laws launched online
The Guide to Overseas Laws and Statutes in the National Library of Australia has been placed on the Librarys web site so that libraries and researchers are better informed about the richness and breadth of the Librarys holdings in this area of its legal collections.
The guide has been updated and reorganised from the published volume (1993) to include the holdings of Asian countries laws up to the letter S (this will be completed as soon as possible). Where the Library has substantial holdings of a particular countrys laws, there are now standard subdivisions to allow more efficient browsing. The guide is designed to increase access to the Librarys collections of overseas statutes especially where a considerable part of this material is not identifiable through the National Librarys catalogue.
The guide is available at www.nla.gov.au/guides/law. Reference assistance is available to verify whether a particular law is held in the Librarys collections. The Senior Librarian (Law) can be contacted at telephone (02) 6262 1608.
