The National Library greatly appreciates the assistance received from Australian embassies in the Asian region. In Thailand and Indonesia, in particular, the support of the Australian diplomatic posts over many years has been invaluable for the Library’s acquisition and liaison work. In recent weeks the Ambassadors-designate to these two countries have visited the Library as part of the preparation for their postings. Mr Miles Kupa, the new Ambassador to Thailand and Mr Ric Smith, Ambassador to Indonesia both met with the Director-General Jan Fullerton and other staff, before a tour of the building, including the Asian Collections.
