New guidelines on cataloguing for the Australian National Bibliographic Database (NBD)

The Kinetica Cataloguing Standards page has recently been upgraded and cataloguers are encouraged to visit the website at <www.nla.gov.au/kinetica/standards.html> for the latest information on cataloguing conventions and standards applicable within Kinetica's National Bibliographic Database (NBD). This is a very important development as it completely replaces the old ABN Cataloguing manual and provides advice to Australian libraries to assist in the creation of records to support resource discovery, shared cataloguing and also interlending. Additional cataloguing guidelines and standards have been added to these pages to enable libraries to contribute consistent, quality data for resource and record sharing, and to assist Australian libraries to provide access to their collections efficiently.
