New Staff
MARTIN WOODS has recently joined the Reader Services area of the Library as manager responsible for reading rooms and access innovation. Most recently Martin was employed at the Australian War Memorial, managing their Collection Management System and implementation of the Memorials online Collections Search and Military Encyclopaedia. Martin will make contributions to access architecture and in infrastructure development. He rejoins the Library after six years absence, and began his career in cultural heritage management. He also worked for a number of years in Oral History and Manuscripts, and was awarded a PhD in History in 2000.
CARMEL McINERNY has recently joined the Reader Services area of the Library as manager responsible for online reference services. She will take a leading role in the establishment of the highly successful AskNow! service as a permanent collaborative venture, and the development of the Library's knowledge base system. Carmel began her career in the Manuscripts Section of the Library a number of years ago and has since worked in various other areas in the Library and spent time as an independent researcher and valuer of library materials. Most recently she was employed at the Australian War Memorial managing their text digitisation program and the implementation of their collection management.
