On 16–17 September, the National Library will host the second Research
Applications in Information and Library Science (RAILS) Seminar. This seminar
will continue to build partnerships among educators, researchers and practitioners
to ensure that a culture of informed and innovative practice is nurtured
in the provision of library and information services (LIS).
RAILS2 has the theme of Linking Research with Practice. There are 18
papers on the program, covering many aspects of library research in Australia.
Attendance at the seminar is free, but registration is essential. The
program, registration form and information about accommodation options
is available from the conference website at <www.nla.gov.au/initiatives/meetings/railshm.html>.
The papers from the first RAILS seminar in 2004 are available at <http://www.csu.edu.au/faculty/sciagr/sis/CIS/epubs/reapps.htm#contents>.
